Named by the very children this ministry serves. Why? “Because that’s what we are…FAMILY!” Consisting of four classrooms, ages ranging from birth to 11, an age-appropriate curriculum is taught. Directed by Kay Vargas, congregation members volunteer their time to lead and assist the children while they learn about Jesus and His word. The children are taught about salvation, they learn bible scriptures, how to use their bible, the importance of prayer, about serving others and most importantly about growing their faith by attending church, fellowship and spreading the gospel to reach others in need. They are taught how to testify, how to witness and how to intercede. On the fourth Sunday of the month, the main service is dedicated to allow the children to share and show the congregation what they have been learning in class.
Youth On Fire
The group started with three members back in September ’10 and now stands at sixteen. Youth on Fire, self-named, has monthly meetings, monthly fellowships, and attends events with other youth groups. The youth help out in the Children’s Church, go out to the streets to evangelize, they fundraise, and they are always willing to lend a helping hand whenever the need arises. In fact, they helped plan and implement our very first Vacation Bible School this summer. Every 5th Sunday of the month is titled Youth Sunday. The entire group gives the service, from greeter, to pastoring the message. They have had several fundraisers to supplement their needs, as well as to help the church reach their conference goals. In fact, they hold the honor of raising the most money in a single event, (the girls hold the title, truth be told…lol).
We are proud to announce that Jonathon Delgado, our Pastor's son has graduated and is now attending Texas A & M in Kingsville, TX. where he continues to lift up the name of Jesus!! Congratulations Jonathon!! Spread the Fire!!!
This ministry’s goal is to help small churches throughout the city grow. We offer our services to help each other in any capacity necessary. Our main focus is to help them evangelize in their own neighborhoods, to promote community awareness of the services these churches have to offer, and to establish and maintain strong networking ties. After all, we are working toward the same goal, which is to build up the kingdom of God. The last Tuesday of the month, during our men’s fellowship, we invite pastors and leaders to join us and share their victories as well as their struggles. Together, our impact will be greater!
Igniting the Fire
Inspired by this message, a second event has been established. The praise team, as well as many of its congregants, gather at a surrounding small church and together, with their congregation, have two evenings jam-packed with Praise and Worship.
Women of Worth
Every third Tuesday of the month, we have our Woman’s Fellowship. What started out as the topic for our first gathering has become our title for these monthly events. We are Women of Worth. Each month, a lady from our congregation, “hosts” the fellowship. She is in charge of the menu, the decorations, and the order of service, including confirming the guest speaker, who is chosen by our pastor. We have praise and worship, intercession, individual prayer, testimonies, a love offering, a Word, an altar call, breaking of bread and general fellowship.
One of our first meetings had only nine women present, speaker included. We kept apologizing for the poor turnout, to which her response was "exactly whom the Lord intended to be here is here. I would have come out to speak even if only one person was present because that person needed to hear what God had to say to them." So, with that in mind, we have continued to hold the event and our turnout has grown in leaps and bounds. We have reached out to other small churches and have had various speakers throughout the year. Each woman has come with her own story and through the power of the Holy Spirit, she has reached out to impact our lives greatly.
This ministry is yet to be named and is currently under establishment. However, Pastor Fabian can visit incarcerated individuals upon request.
Let’s Have a “BLAST”!
These are outdoor events held in the surrounding neighborhoods. Praise and worship booms out of speakers, testimonies about the goodness of God and what he has done to transform lives are spoken boldly, all who pass by are welcomed to stop by for prayer, a small snack or a bottle of water is offered and many have come to know Christ as their personal Savior.
Beginner Music Lessons
This is our newest ministry. It is currently active in Houston. Pastor Fabian teaches beginner voice, keyboard, and violin lessons to underprivledged children and their families. At this time, the students are sharing instruments. It is our desire to help provide each one with an instrument of their own so as to enabe them to practice at home. We are actively seeking donations of gently used instruments for this purpose. Each session includes a biblical lesson as well.
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” - Ephesians 4:11, 12
